July 10, 1878 Lorenzo Perkins and pregnant wife murdered on their way from Crab Creek to Yakama
Sept 8, 1878 Moses meets with Gen. Howard at Wallula, asks for “Moses Reserve”
Howard puts settlers ban in Moses Reserve area, alarming settlers.
Sept. 15 Kittitas assembly of settlers
Sept. 17 Yakama City assembly of settlers
Wilbur publicly refutes Howard’s plan for Moses’ Reserve
Sept. 18 Howard calls Wilbur to Vancouver…Wilbur refuses
Oct. 11 Interior Department requests Wilbur find and talk to Moses to learn his attitude. Wilbur sends three Indians with Eneas in charge. Eneas tells Moses that Wilbur has a message from Howard.
Dec 7 Moses at Simco
Dec 9 Moses at Yakama City. Under pressure, agrees to assist to find Perkins’ murderers.
Dec 11 Moses to Crab Creek
Dec 12 Posse leaves Yakama
Dec 13 Confrontation at Crab Creek. Moostonic captured by posse at Smohalla’s camp.
